SA Type Single-stage Double-suction Split-case Centrifugal Pump is applicable for media with temperature ranging from -20℃ to 80℃. It is widely used for conveying industrial water, domestic water and tap water, as well as for water conservancy projects, farmland irrigation and drainage.

Structural Features
It is designed for horizontal installation. Both suction and discharge nozzles are located below the pump shaft centerline. The pump casing adopts horizontal split structure, so there is no need to remove inlet and outlet pipelines during maintenance.
Bearings: Rolling bearings are fitted at both ends to support the rotor assembly. Sliding bearings are optional for models 24SA-18 and 16SA-90. Lubrication modes include oil bath and grease lubrication.
Shaft Seal: 1. Soft packing seal; 2. Mechanical seal.
Rotation Direction
Viewed from the motor end, the pump rotates counterclockwise. Clockwise rotation is available upon customer request.
Application
This single-stage double-suction horizontally split centrifugal pump is widely used in factories, urban water supply systems, mines, power plants, farmland and water conservancy projects. It is used to deliver clean water free of solid particles and other liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water. The applicable medium temperature is 0℃ ~ 80℃, and the maximum inlet pressure is 0.6 MPa.

Assembly, Disassembly and Installation
Assembly and Disassembly
1. Mount the impeller, shaft sleeve, shaft sleeve nut, packing sleeve, packing ring, packing gland, water deflector and bearing assembly onto the pump shaft in sequence. Fit the double-suction wear ring, then install the coupling.
2. Place the assembled rotor onto the pump casing. Adjust the axial position of the impeller to the middle between the two double-suction wear rings and secure it. Fasten the bearing housing cover with set screws.
3. Install the packing. Place the paper gasket on the split surface, fit the pump cover, drive in the taper pins and tighten the pump cover nuts. Finally, mount the packing gland.Do not over-tighten the packing, as excessive compression will cause shaft sleeve overheating and increased power consumption. Loose packing will lead to severe liquid leakage and reduced pump efficiency.
After assembly, rotate the pump shaft manually. It shall run smoothly and freely without friction or collision.Disassembly shall be carried out in the reverse order of assembly.
Installation
1. Inspect the pump and motor to ensure no damage.
2. The sum of pump installation height, pipeline hydraulic loss and velocity head shall not exceed the allowable suction vacuum height specified in the product manual. The foundation dimensions shall comply with the overall size of the pump unit.
3. Installation Procedures
① Place the pump on the concrete foundation with pre-embedded anchor bolts. Level the unit by adjusting wedge shims, and slightly tighten the anchor bolts to prevent displacement.
② Pour concrete between the foundation and pump base.
③ After the concrete fully cures, fully tighten the anchor bolts and recheck the pump levelness.
④ Align the motor shaft with the pump shaft to keep them coaxial. The radial runout deviation on the outer circle of the two couplings shall not exceed 0.1 mm, and the unevenness of the end clearance along the circumference shall be within 0.3 mm. Recheck and confirm compliance after pipeline connection and trial operation.
⑤ Verify that the motor rotation direction matches the pump, then install the coupling and connecting pins.
4. Separate supports shall be provided for suction and discharge pipelines. The pipelines shall not be supported by the pump casing.
5. Ensure airtight sealing at joints between the pump and pipelines. The suction pipeline in particular must be completely airtight with no trapped air inside.
6. If the pump is installed above the water level, install a foot valve for priming. Vacuum priming is also acceptable.
7. A gate valve and a check valve are generally installed on the discharge pipeline (the check valve may be omitted if the head is less than 20 meters), with the check valve mounted behind the gate valve. The above steps apply to pump units without a common base frame.
For units equipped with a common base frame, level the unit by adjusting wedge shims between the base frame and concrete foundation, then pour concrete in the gaps. All installation principles and requirements are the same as those for units without a common base frame.
Start-up, Shutdown and Operation
1. Start-up and Shutdown
① Before start-up, turn the pump rotor manually, which shall rotate smoothly and freely.
② Close the discharge gate valve and fill the pump with water. Use a vacuum pump for water diversion if no foot valve is installed. Make sure the pump is fully filled with water without trapped air.
③ If a vacuum gauge or pressure gauge is equipped, close the corresponding cocks before starting the motor. Open the cocks after the motor runs at rated speed, then gradually open the discharge gate valve. Adjust the flow rate by regulating the valve opening.
④ Tighten the nuts on the packing gland evenly to allow liquid to drip slowly. Keep an eye on the temperature rise of the packing chamber.
⑤ Before shutdown, first close the gauge cocks and the discharge gate valve, then cut off the motor power. In low-temperature environments, remove the square plug at the pump bottom and drain residual water to prevent freezing and cracking.
⑥ For long-term idle storage, disassemble the pump, wipe off water from all components, and apply anti-rust oil on machined surfaces.
2. Operation Rules
① The maximum operating temperature of pump bearings shall not exceed 75°C.
② Calcium-based grease for bearing lubrication shall fill 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing housing cavity.
③ Retighten the packing gland appropriately when the packing wears out. Replace the packing if it is severely worn.
④ Inspect coupling components regularly and monitor the temperature rise of motor bearings.
⑤ Stop the pump immediately if abnormal noise occurs during operation. Identify and eliminate faults before restarting.
⑥ Do not arbitrarily increase the pump speed; speed reduction is permitted. For this pump model:
Rated speed is n, the flow rate is q, the head is h, the shaft power is n, and the reduced speed is n1. Flow after deceleration. Head. The shaft power is Q1, H1 and N1. their mutual relations. The following formula can be used for conversion: Q1 =(n1/n)Q H1 =(n1/n)2H N1 =(n1/n)3N
